Linhares da Beira is a medieval village from the 12th century and one of the Historical Villages of Portugal. Highlight for its castle, about 820 meters above sea level.
The Mondeguinho is located at 1425 meters above sea level. The Mondego river is born here. Continuation of the ascendent of Mountain Estrela crossing the glacial valley of Manteigas. Torre (the Tower) is the highest point in mainland Portugal at 1993 meters.
In place of a former 1 km long glacier, a dam was built, now known as Lagoa Comprida (Long Lagoon).
Passage by Sabugueiro, the highest village in Portugal.
