Coimbra: the right bank of the Mondego

The tour starts next to the statue of king Dinis, the founding kink of the University of Coimbra. After getting to know the University City, it’s time to head to the Cathedrals of Coimbra: passing through the New Cathedral, through the old Bishop’s Palace, arriving at the Old Cathedral. After descending the Quebra Costas (break backs) and passing through Almedina’s Arch, we reach downtown. We go to the Monastery of Santa Cruz, pantheon of king Afonso Henriques and his son, Sancho I. We cross Commerce Square and arrive at Largo da Portagem (Toll Square) where the visit ends.
